Tideworks Technology®, a full-service provider of comprehensive terminal operating system (TOS) solutions, announced that BNSF Railway (BNSF), one of US largest freight railroad and one of North America’s Class I railroads, has gone live with Tideworks Intermodal Pro® intermodal TOS and Traffic Control™ equipment dispatch system at BNSF’s Memphis facility.

Intermodal Pro and Traffic Control will provide BNSF with centralized visibility into its terminal operations, allowing it to improve real-time planning, terminal and equipment productivity, and overall performance.

In addition, BNSF chose Tideworks’ solutions to provide a foundation for improving business operations and modernizing and integrating with new technology.

“BNSF Railway plays a crucial role in North America’s supply chain, and it’s essential for us to stay ahead of evolving demands by choosing technology providers and partners that elevate our rail operations,” stated Scott Hernandez, assistant vice president of Intermodal Strategy and Innovation at BNSF Railway.

Scott Hernandez added, “Our ongoing collaboration with Tideworks establishes a solid foundation for optimizing our intermodal operations at our wide-span facilities, enabling increased efficiency, an improved experience for our trucking partners and continuing to provide industry-leading service for our customers.”

The deployment of Tideworks’ intermodal TOS with BNSF in Memphis strengthens the two firms’ collaboration. Tideworks’ intermodal TOS was previously installed at BNSF’s Logistics Park Chicago (LPC) facility in February 2022.

Tideworks supported BNSF’s yard configuration strategy, which required it to swiftly react to ever-changing capacity surges, as part of the Intermodal Pro and Traffic Control deployments.

Furthermore, these project deployments have aided BNSF’s attempts to improve system stability, streamline workflows, enable semi-automated wide-span crane operations, and cut emissions by increasing the use of zero-emissions electric cranes.
